“As Above, So Below – As Within, So Without

The Concept of Living in the Reflection of One’s Own Consciousness

The idea of “as above so below, as within so without” is foundational to many spiritual and philosophical traditions. It suggests that there is a correspondence between the inner and outer worlds – that the microcosm reflects the macrocosm, and vice versa. In other words, our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs shape our reality, both internally and externally.

The Wisdom of Yoga

Yoga provides an excellent example of this concept in action. In the practice of yoga, we cultivate awareness of our inner landscape – our breath, our body, and our thoughts. As we become more attuned to these subtle energies, we begin to notice their effects on our external experience. For instance, when we struggle with balance in a yoga pose, we may also struggle with balance in our daily lives. By working to find stability on the mat, we can learn to find it in all areas of our lives.

The Mysteries of Quantum Physics

Quantum physics also offers insights into the relationship between consciousness and reality. Experiments have shown that subatomic particles behave differently depending on whether they are being observed or not. This suggests that the act of observation itself influences the outcome of an experiment. Similarly, our own observations and perceptions influence the reality that we experience.

The Secrets of Hermeticism

The hermetic tradition, which includes the famous maxim “as above, so below,” teaches that everything is connected and interdependent. There is no separation between the individual and the universe – each is a reflection of the other. By understanding the patterns and rhythms of the universe, we can better understand ourselves, and by changing ourselves, we can change the world around us.

Living in the Reflection of Our Own Consciousness

So what does all of this mean for our daily lives? It means that our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions have a direct impact on the reality that we experience. If we want to create positive change in our lives, we must first examine and shift our internal landscape.

For example, if we want to attract abundance into our lives, we must cultivate a mindset of abundance. This means releasing limiting beliefs about money and wealth, and focusing on gratitude and generosity instead. As we shift our thoughts and feelings in this way, we begin to see external changes as well – opportunities for financial growth and abundance start to show up in our lives.

Finding Balance Above and Below

Another important aspect of living in the reflection of our consciousness is understanding the pattern of our soul above and below the midline of our experience on earth. By cultivating awareness of our higher self, or our soul’s purpose, we can align ourselves with our true path and create a life that reflects our deepest desires and values.

At the same time, we must also pay attention to our lower self, or ego mind, which can pull us off course with fear, doubt, and insecurity. By finding balance between these two aspects of our being, we can remain centered and focused on our personal growth and evolution.

The Power of Intention

Ultimately, living in the reflection of our own consciousness requires us to take responsibility for our thoughts and actions. We must become intentional creators of our reality rather than passive observers. By setting clear intentions and taking inspired action towards our goals, we can manifest our deepest desires and create a life of purpose and meaning.

Embracing the Unity of All

Perhaps the greatest lesson of the concept of “as above so below, as within so without” is the recognition of our interconnectedness with all beings and all things. When we understand that the universe is not separate from us, but rather an extension of us, we can begin to act with greater compassion, love, and respect for all life.

By living in the reflection of our own consciousness, we can create a world that reflects our highest vision of ourselves and our collective future. This is a powerful and optimistic message that has the potential to transform our individual and collective realities.
