Braid – People of Faerie

The vast constellation of beings who carry the Faerie frequency — the living mythos of Faerie as a real dimension of consciousness encountered through specific people, places, and sacred gatherings in the Pacific Northwest. The primary character web of Book II: Faerie Roads, anchored by the Faerieworlds Gathering and the community it called into being.

The arc of the movement through Faerie (from the Mythos Braids Notes, July 2026): seeded in childhood by 1986’s “Labyrinth of Life” (Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, Brian Froud’s designs — the Henson-Froud lineage of making the mythic visible). Opened for real at the end of 2008 when Peter, traveling the sideway highways with the Mythmaker circus (“Come the Mythmaker”), is led to Faerieworlds — which he hadn’t known existed — and encounters Brian and Toby Froud in the flesh. From there the braid runs through Oregon, tracking synchronicities across the realms of Faerie: Faerie Roads (2009), Livingwell (2010, first encounter with that realm through law-of-correspondence events), Singing Alive (2010), Autumn Dragons (2010), The Fairy Seer (2010), Friends of the Faeries (2010), Bards of Faerie (2011), The Rainbow Dragon (2011), Gathering of the Rainbows (2011), The Country Fair (2011), The Faery Well (2011).

The 2014 deepening: “In the Name of Love” — the dance-magic invocation that summons Adrienne Awen, herself an aspect of Faerie; “Lions, Tigers & Wolves” — traveling the realms of Faerie together, all about the Green; “The Fairy Congress” — the deva-on-land face of Faerie (vs. the fire/performance face of Faerieworlds and the Mythmaker); “Roses of Beltane,” “Wheels of Time,” “Roots of Yggdrasil” (Olympic State Park, the roots of the World Tree); culminating in “Paladin of Faerie” — the recognition of being the paladin of Faerie, in the devotion. Distinct textures within the braid: Mythmaker/Faerieworlds = fire and performance; Fairy Congress/Livingwell = deva and land.
