“The Invocation of Pan”

"The Invocation of Pan" – May 8, 2009

I am asked to invoke as the embodiment of Pan during a ritual with the Dakini of Ashland. It is a magical experience, where we find ourselves dancing and moving, aligning with the once-ways in what is called the ‘Black Sheep’, a tavern within the Shire …

I am asked by the priestesses to invoke the energies of Pan, the God of Nature, reminding me of the ritual I performed in 2003 during the Firedance episode of the journey.

The thing i’ve found about being something is that we don’t always know what we’re being, yet nonetheless the archetype of it moves through us, embodying a quality for others in our shared journeys.

Over time, I will come to see that these are the mages and priestesses of the current Age, arranged in enclaves across the realms of Cascadia.

As part of his magic, McLain offers to create a pair of pants to help with the invocation.

It is a deeply magical gathering, with the avatars of the Shire coming together in shared invocation.
