“Catching Lightning”

"Catching Lightning" – July 6, 2007
Catching Lightning
As I make the way back to the mountains of Tahoe, I sense the presence of the deva of storms and rain that were my closest allies. It grows as I drive, the pressure dropping in the winds outside, the air electrifying with potential.

As I drive, I can feel the storms calling to me. Flashing across the rear view of my mirror in bolts of divine light. I can hear their voices in rumbling whispers and thundering light, the bass notes of the heaven’s, singing their sound across the endless Sky.
I feel it is a perfect moment to shift, to realign my energies towards the manifestation of the Love that I truly want. Here, I sense that I may use the perfection of alignment required to witness a photo of the lightning to change my inner state, shifting me towards the manifestation I desire.

Catching lightning is a magic of perfect timing. Of feeling the approach of the electricity along one’s skin before the lightning strikes, clicking the shutter at the exact moment it happens.

I found it particularly interesting that my placement on the highway shooting snapshots of lightning alongside my beloved wolf familiar and with a suit of elvish armor in the truck en route back to the mountains where I studied the magic was simultaneously the cover for American Gods.
