Shadowlands

The distorted and incoherent realm of an aka. That which is traversed in the shifting tides of the mind across the ether sea. The Shadowlands are the places of confusion and distortion, where the more purified quality of consciousness that it embodies is distorted within the self. They are the places of shadow, where many trials on the quest are found.

In the cosmology of the Mythica, the Shadowlands are where the receipt of a quality of consciousness in one’s experience is blocked, like clouds hiding the sun. In the structure of stories, this plays out as a landscape of karmic repetitions which happen across the layers of the axis mundi and on one’s timeline.

In contrast to the Shadowlands are the Brightlands, where the more purified and clarified expression of the aka may be found.

In the cosmology of the Path and the Land, the shadows which exist within our nervous system manifest as distorted circumstances in our manifest world. They are the expression of incoherence within the mind due to unresolved traumas and are part of the axis mundi.
