Akashic Library – The Arts of Divination
“Why does that matter?”
“People want to know their story.“ Peter said, moving books from one shelf to another. “They are in a romance with their idea of purpose, and wish to understand the elemental nature of their self, and its story. In essence, they wish to read their Akashic record.“
“Why?” Calliope asked, her eyes wide with innocence. “Desire” Peter said. “It’s all about desire. They desire to know themselves. To know the construct of patterns that is their current self. What many call the’ego’. More than this, they have the desire to live in happiness. To achieve what they want in life. They feel understanding their story will help them achieve this desire.”
“I’m not sure I understand.”
“Fair enough. I certainly didn’t understand for a long time.”
“How did you come to see it?”
“It was a combination of many things. Many lessons learned across the Quest. Pieces of a puzzle that gradually came together.”
“LIke?”
“Well, it’s about being human. About what it means to be one of the many types of humans that exist in the mortal plane. It’s about understanding what makes us the type of human we’re being, and how to make the most out of that thing.”
“Do you know what astrology is?” he asked, picking up a book covered with pictures of stars.
“I know it has something to do with when someone is born.”
“It does. More specifically, it has to do with the elements that are predominant in someone’s body the moment they take their first breath.”
“Where did you learn that?”
He looked at her.
She smiles in return. “Okay. WHEN and where did you learn that?”
“It was 2011 when I returned to the realms of Livingwell,” Peter said, his hand tracing lines across the shimmering globe which then settled on the northwestern United States. “It had been a sanctuary for me many times on the Quest and was the home of a masterful astrologer by the name of Mark McNutt. Through his expertise i’d come to see the art and science of astrology from a new angle, one that spoke to it’s essence as a means of divining the self.”
“Like the cards you’d studied at the Academy?”
“Exactly. Astrology, like tarot, was a way for people to see the nature of their self. To help them make informed decisions regarding their desires.”
“We were sitting by the edge of the beautiful stream that ran through his property” he said, “and he spoke about the first breath a child takes as being imprinted with the gravities and energies of the cosmos itself.”
