law of correspondence

As above, so below. As within, so without. This is the foundational principle of the mystic arts — the recognition that the structure of your inner world and the structure of your outer circumstances are not separate and unrelated phenomena but expressions of the same underlying vibrational pattern, mirroring each other with precision at every level of your experience. What you encounter in the outer world is a reflection of what exists within. What you experience in the heavens of expanded perspective is mirrored in the earth of your material circumstances. In the Mythica's cosmological framework, this principle finds its expression through the axis mundi — the central column of your being that connects the innermost depths to the outermost expressions of your life.

The principle is simple in its statement yet endless in its expressions. You are the center of your universe. You live in the conditions of consciousness that are strung upon your unique tree of life. Whatever you are experiencing in the outer field — the quality of your relationships, the texture of your circumstances, the kinds of encounters that recur along your timeline — is a reflection of the substance of the ethers that make up your character in the Great Story. And correspondingly, by genuinely changing the substance within — through the clearing of shadow, the cultivation of coherence, the metabolizing of karmic impressions — you change the quality of what manifests without, because they are not two separate things but one thing perceived from two angles simultaneously. This is not metaphor. This is the physics of the subtle world.

In psychological terms, the law of correspondence maps onto the understanding of how the subconscious patterns of the psyche project outward and shape the quality of one's relational and circumstantial experience. In the Mythica's broader cosmological framework, this understanding is expanded to recognize that there are multiple layers of the land corresponding to the multiple layers of the self: the terrasphere corresponds to the surface ego layer, the mnemosphere to the subconscious emotional layer, the mythosphere to the archetypal and karmic layer, and the aethersphere to the elemental and formless layers of identity. The law of correspondence operates across all of these layers simultaneously, making the outer landscape of your story a multidimensional map of the entire inner cosmos. Change the inside, and the outside changes. Not eventually. Correspondingly.
