2023-5-25 – Amongst the Ferns
Deeply saddened by the agitations in the house and how they affected the space between Adrienne and I, I resolve that I have still done the right thing, moving forward with the willingness to be open, to be loving, to honor the spell that I cast almost ten years earlier that had brought us together. While it is difficult to swallow, there is wisdom as I recognize the difference in our experience of life and where we are both at on our paths, breathing into the recognition that “when one door closes, another opens”.
I get an intuition then to connect with Fern DeFay, my fellow pagan anthropologist and seeress living to the west of the city and have a drop-in meeting in perfect synchronicity a week before her birthday and during the window of time she has off-work. We come together in a flurry of flowing and expansive bardic conversation as I show her the latest iteration of the Mythica invocation and the intent to share that with the people, giving a structural basis for the movement through the realms of the Creation.
In her capacity as a priestess of Love, Fern gives me counsel over the heartbreak of not having the resonance I wanted with Adrienne, offering reflections that help me see how stressed Adrienne has been more clearly, how she has been in survival mode and the like.
I feel her in this deeply, and yet also look to the energies of right-form and right-technique when negotiating the subtle intricacies of the masculine/feminine dynamic and what it means to step out of what I consider the murky waters of the Pacific northwests deva and how such things affect the people.
