layers of the land

Mythipedia Entry – Layers of the Land

To understand the mystical World and travel to the realms of a more heavenly Earth requires an understanding of the nature of awareness and it’s relationship to the reality in which we live.

In the cosmology of the Mythica, the material plane of Earth has many layers, and as we move along the timeline of our adventure we pass through those layers simultaneously. Understanding the relationship between our Path and the layers of the Land is fundamental to seeing the sacred story of our life as a movement.

Fundamental to this is the understanding of the axis mundi and the World Tree, as our path across the layers of the land is defined by the relationship between these things.

Terrasphere Mythosphere Mnemosphere Akasphere Aethersphere

Terrasphere

Terrasphere - The way things appear on the surface of perception.

Mythosphere

Mythosphere - The layer of mythopoetic archetypes on a planetary level.  Corresponds to the subconscious mind on the level of the individual.

Mnemosphere

MnemosphereThe collective layer of planetary vibrational impressions which influence one's individual path.  Equivalent to the collective unconscious of the self.

Akasphere

AkasphereThe distilled layer of form where the building blocks of identity known as aka can be perceived.

Aethersphere

AethersphereThe elemental level of form beyond the constellations of aka where all things dissolve into the primal elements of earth, air, water, fire and ether (space).

As we make the journey into the magical World, we move through layers of awareness.  This is very much like digging for buried treasure within the self where the treasure is a deeper and more expansive version of your reality.

Spiritual truth always follows the patterns of Nature, for Nature is the very definition of our reality.  In this context, the models we use to describe our reality can be used across the board.

As you can see in this illustration, we would describe the layers of the Earth in a very gross physical way, presenting the ‘surface’, the ‘crust’ and the various atmospheres leading to the core of the planet as we currently understand it.  Such is a beautiful way of modeling part of the substance of our blessed planet.

In the slider above there are two sets of definitions. One shows the layers of consciousness in the mind and the other shows their equivalent in the land.

As a way of looking at the depths of movement towards the core of the Earth, we can use this same idea to model the ways in which our awareness of our own self and the conditions of our circumstance may move from the surface to the subtle depths of our inner core.

In this case, we are presenting a movement of awareness, an ever-deepening perception of the subtle and then causal vibrations that make up our experience.  As we do this, we gain an ever-brightening recognition of the real World of magic and wonder that is our birthright.

As we make the journey into the Mythica, we are learning to relate with the World on ever-deepening levels of subtlety.  To understand and perceive that mystic octave, we must always remember that we are always looking at the same thing, only at different depths of perception.

You are always looking at the same thing from different dimensions of perception.

Just as we cannot see the deeper layers of the Earth without actively digging down, we have no idea what lay in the depths of our potential.  Like explorers searching for buried treasure, we must trust that there is more beneath the surface than we can currently perceive and do the work to transform our perception such that we may reach the deeper world within.
